Registration opens for ‘Bikes for BKIT 2014’

The Bikes for BKIT Fun Ride 2014, a sponsored cycle ride to raise funds for the Trust, will this year take place on

Sunday 20th July

The eighth annual cycle ride once again follows the 26.5 mile ‘Leamington Orbital‘ route that starts and finishes at the Pump Room Gardens in Leamington Spa. The route passes Warwick Castle, Charlecote, Wellesbourne and Chesterton Wood and is paved, fairly flat and suitable for cyclists of all levels.

Registration costs £10 (plus a 90p booking fee), for which all riders receive a BKIT t-shirt, food and drinks on route, an evening meal and a ‘Bikes for BKIT Fun Ride 2014′ participants medal.

If you are not a cyclist, you can also register as a Support Volunteer to help out on the day of the event. Support Volunteers help with marshalling at the start, half-way point and end of the ride.

Congratulations to this year’s BKIT Cyclists

Over 30 riders, one tandem, on triple bike and scorching weather – Sunday 14 July was a great day for our seventh annual cycle ride, this year covering just over 26 miles through the Warwickshire countryside to raise funds for the Trust. Here are some photographs from the day:

BKIT Runners Complete Warwick Half-Marathon

warwick-half-marathomOn the sixth anniversary of the death of former BKIT Trustee Gilly Mundy, after whom the Trust’s major project in India has been named, a team of runners including BKIT Trustees Jas and Sangita Mundy (right) braved the rain and freezing temperature yesterday to complete the first Warwick Half-Marathon.

It is still possible to sponsor the team at  Virgin Money Giving.
